Bellfield is a vibrant community space in the heart of Portobello. Formerly Portobello Old Parish Church, Bellfield offers hire space for every occasion and a programme of regular classes and events. Since opening in June 2018 following a community buy-out, our halls have become a hub for Portobello’s lively community, providing a local venue for people to come together to meet, play and celebrate.

In its previous life as a working church, Bellfield made its mark on the memories of Portobello’s residents as a place to celebrate christenings, birthdays and weddings, and to say farewell to loved ones. We are proud to continue this tradition, offering versatile spaces and facilities to help make your events and celebrations go with a bang.
Bellfield’s halls offer a range of spaces, ideal for holding regular classes, activities and community group meetings, as well as one-off public or private events. We aim to be accessible and welcoming to all, working with our hirers to constantly improve our facilities and make Bellfield a place to belong for the whole community.
From concerts and ceilidhs to school plays and stand-up, Bellfield’s spaces are a blank canvas for live performance and arts events, attracting high quality creative talent to Portobello and providing our community with a vibrant local venue.
